Construction Industry Technology

presented by Tommy Gay

New technology has completely redefined how we live our lives, both at home and work. Commercial construction is a prime example of how technology continuously impacts an industry with benefits such as safety, productivity, and efficiency.

Whether your company is large or small, this presentation sparks ideas that all people can take back to their teams to improve day-to-day safety and implement training processes that drive the high level skills needed for today's projects.

Tommy Gay is a Safety Director with 15 years of General Industry and Construction experience working alongside the executive team for mechanical/electrical  contractor Southern Air Inc. Tommy specializes in construction safety and is responsible for educating other employees on using progressive systems and applications, including software, mass communication and training on various tools and procedures. Tommy started his safety career in the rail car industry before transitioning to Southern Air. Tommy has improved   Southern Air’s safety culture which shows each year with ever-lowering EMR, TIRR and DART numbers while leading the company to become one of the first to earn Associated General Contractors of Virginia’s BEST    Level 2 designation. Tommy is inspired daily by his wife and their two daughters. In his free time, Tommy likes hunting and teaching his daughters archery.
