A MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN

On behalf of the AGCVA Board of Directors, it is a pleasure to invite you to join us for the
2022 AGCVA Convention. We are looking forward to being together January 20-23, 2022, at The Greenbrier. This event is always one to be remembered and we can assure you that this year will be no exception.

You’ll notice the theme for this year’s event is #AGCVABuildingWithYou – "We’re not just
handing you a blueprint, we’re building with you".
We chose this theme because as an industry, we have faced – and are still facing – some substantial challenges. We also know that so much is possible, despite these challenges and we are ready to face them with you. Therefore, we’ve designed this event to equip you with the tools, the ideas, and the connections that you will need to keep your business moving forward.

This will be a powerful experience. Our convention headline speakers, Scott Wayne and Ace Callwood will start by helping us look with purpose into an uncertain future. They will challenge our thinking, offer new perspectives, and provide us with concrete ideas to leverage the opportunities that uncertainty provides.

The list of presenters and topics following our keynote are equally dynamic and will provide you with not only new ideas, but solutions you can put to work right away. From taking a deep dive into understanding contracts in order to avoid major pitfalls to heat illness and prevention to diversity and inclusion, we’re covering a broad range of the most relevant and toughest challenges. We’re also providing a chance to collaborate with your peers during roundtable discussions. These conversations are back by popular demand and are a great opportunity to connect with other members, discuss common challenges, and create solutions together.

And of course, as is always the case, there is a great deal of fun to be had throughout the entire event. Whether your idea of fun is learning to knit a lap throw, designing a custom piece to hang on your door, or taking part in a food or beverage tasting, we’ve got something for everyone. We also invite you to join us Friday evening for the Chairman’s Reception and Chairman's Installation Banquet, and again Saturday evening for our the Convention Celebration with "The Dickens" band.

The Convention Committee has done an exceptional job of designing an event that will provide tremendous value in addition to all the fun and enjoyment we experience every year. We are never alone as AGCVA members and we hope you will join us at The Greenbrier as we step confidently into the future together.

Sincerely,

Trip Smith, DBIA, LEED AP
AGCVA Chairman
