Bruce Tibbetts, President of EMC Mechanical Services, installed as Chairman of AGCVA
For the first time in its nearly 100 years, a Specialty Contractor has been installed as Chairman of the Associated General Contractors of Virginia. Richmond based EMC Mechanical Services President, Bruce Tibbetts, was installed as the Chairman of the AGC-Virginia Chapter at their annual convention held at the Greenbrier resort with over 580 in attendance.
Under Bruce’s leadership, EMC’s four operational divisions (Major Projects, Special Projects, Service and Fabrication) offer customers in their primary market and beyond, the highest level of service to meet their unique demands. “Installing Confidence” is the focus of each of their 150 plus employees and Bruce reinforces this consistently through his everyday communications and actions. Tibbetts stated; “We are focused on developing the contractor of the future! Workforce development is our largest multi-pronged initiative designed to help construction employers. This year we will 1) help provide current employees the tools to go to the next level, 2) partner with community colleges, career technical centers and national trade associations to provide the curriculums for the workforce of the future and 3) Market to parents and educators that a career in construction is a solid, noble and well paid profession for any individual from any background with a good attitude and a desire to contribute.”
The 2019 Board Officers include: Bruce Tibbetts with EMC Mechanical Services– Chairman (Richmond), Kirk Adams with Riddleberger Brothers – Vice Chairman (Harrisonburg), Trip Smith with MEB General Contractors – 1st Vice Chairman (Virginia Beach), Robert Lee with English Construction – Past Chairman (Lynchburg).
