Eligibility requirements for this scholarship are as follows:
1. Applicant must be enrolled in an accredited two-year or four-year college or university.
2. Applicant must be pursuing a construction-related curriculum.
3. Applicant must be one of the following:
A. An employee of a Peninsula AGC firm
B. An immediate family member of an employee of a Peninsula AGC firm.
C. A member of an AGC Student Chapter
If no eligible, qualified student applies, the Scholarship Committee, with the approval of the District Executive Committee, has the discretion to award the scholarship to any deserving college student.
The deadline for returning all applications to the Peninsula AGC is December 1, 2013.
For Peninsula Scholarship -
Tidewater AGC of Virginia is offering academic scholarships for the purpose of assisting students interested in pursuing a career in engineering, design, construction and related professions. Applications are currently being accepted and awards will be announced at the Friday, December 6 Tidewater AGC Holiday Party in Virginia Beach.
To apply you must be a member, dependent of a member, an employee of an AGC member firm, or be sponsored by such member. You must be a full-time student enrolled in a construction, engineering or design curriculum at an accredited college or university in the fall of 2013 or be currently enrolled in a construction-related course in a vocational school or career development program. All college or university applicants must be entering school during the next academic year to be eligible.
Applications will be evaluated based on the applicant’s past academic performance, relationship of course study to the engineering, design and construction industry, extracurricular activities, community involvement, work history, and attitude.
Interested applicants should go to the AGCVA website (www.agcva.org) for further information and a copy of the application.
Applications must be completed and received by Tidewater AGC no later than 5:00 PM, November 22, 2013.
For Tidewater Scholarship -
The Associated General Contractors of Virginia is offering a maximum of three $2,500 scholarships for students pursuing careers in the construction industry.
• Applicant must be currently enrolled in a four year college or university
• Applicant must be a December 2014 or Spring 2015 graduate
• Applicant must be planning a career in construction
• Applicant must be pursuing a B.S. degree in construction
or civil engineering (a dual degree with construction and/or
civil engineering as one part is acceptable)
• Applicant must be a Full Time resident of Virginia
Please note: an interview at the AGC Office in Glen Allen, Virginia may be required if selected as a finalist for a scholarship.

The AGC Foundation awards two different prizes; Outstanding Educator Award and the Student Essay Competition.
Outstanding Educator Award
The qualified applicant must be a full–time teaching faculty member of a university construction management or construction–related engineering program or with an institution–approved construction option. Nominees must have at least four years full–time teaching experience.
